  • Arabic Handwriting - Learn Arabic Series

Arabic Handwriting - Learn Arabic Series

    2-4 weeks

Arabic Handwriting is part of the Safar Learn Arabic Series. The aim of the book is to strengthen children’s familiarity with elementary Arabic penmanship by teaching them to write letters and words. This is the first book in the Safar Learn Arabic Series, wherein students learn to write and study verses of the Quran and ahadith of the Prophet (s). The book can also be used as an aid to the Safar Qaʿidah, whereby writing the Arabic script will help students learn and read the Qaʿidah fluently. The Arabic language is an essential part of a Muslim’s life. For centuries, the recitation of the Qurʾan has been the primary goal for Muslims around the world and not much emphasis has been given on understanding and writing Arabic. The Safar Learn Arabic Series has been designed to fill this gap and help young Muslims better appreciate the sources of Islam: the Qurʾan and Sunnah. This will, in turn, positively build and shape their character and Muslim identity (tarbiyah) inshaAllah.

Safar Islamic Studies Textbook: Level 8

More than a textbook This set of books continues to deliver our aim and ambition to ensure our books are not just perfect for use in the classroom, but they are also life guides for Muslims growing up today. Our secondary series fulfils a purpose beyond the classroom; the books may be used by advanced learners, home schoolers, youth clubs, informal study groups, ḥalaqahs and independent readers and adult learners. A learning tool fit for today’s learners The secondary series has been developed with a wide frame of reference in mind. This includes consideration of subjects taught in state schools, such as Religious Education (RE), SRE (Sex and Relationship Education) and humanities, current political and cultural trends, and contemporary socio-economic issues and contexts. This makes this textbook not only relevant to the experiences of young Muslims today, but also a guide to thinking about and developing a good understanding of the world and actively engaging with complex questions and issues they face growing up. There is a wide range of new content in this book which we know our readers and teacher will love and appreciate. Examples include: An expanded and comprehensive unit on Islamic beliefs that also covers contemporary questions and issues such as belief in God in the modern world and understanding divine justice in a world that is often fractured, unstable and complicated. This will equip Muslim students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills they need to navigate the moral and ethical maze of a postmodern secular world, and do so with confidence, integrity and flair. Safar Teacher's Guide for Islamic Studies: Level 1

Lesson planning is a vital component of the teaching and learning process. Sufficient classroom planning will keep teachers organized as well as on track while teaching, therefore allowing teachers to teach more and help students reach their learning objectives more easily. Lesson planning also ensures that there is a coherent framework for smooth and efficient teaching, as well as giving a sense of direction in relation to the overall syllabus. This guide maps the structure and content of a course. It sets out how class activities, assessment strategies, and resources will be used to ensure that the learning aims and objectives of the course are met successfully. The Safar Teacher‘s Guide serves as a working document to be used by teachers as a foundation for lesson planning. Our suggestions and ideas can be used and adapted by the teacher when thinking about the aims and delivery of a lesson. We actively encourage teachers to use these ideas and adapt their teaching to the needs of their children. To this end, we suggest teachers make their own notes in the schemes of work regarding activities that worked or did not work and provide this feedback to us. We also encourage teachers to be creative and share as many activity ideas as they can with us, in order to improve overall teaching and learning. Safar Schemes of Work (SoW) covers all teaching aspects and textbook material in a detailed manner for both Key Stage 1 and 2. From suggesting learning objectives, differentiated learning outcomes to detailed explanations of activities. Using the SoW is the easiest, time-efficient and the most effective way of planning and teaching the Safar Islamic Studies primary series syllabus. Safar Schemes of Work contain brief details about the contents of the lessons to act as a quick snapshot of what is to be covered. Also, to ensure that the syllabus is taught in a holistic manner, we have included links to previous learning activities/experiences where a subject or theme is revisited or extended, which is vital in facilitating students to consolidate their knowledge and learn coherently rather than simply learn through a fragmentary manner. Using the textbooks, workbooks and schemes of work, the teacher is able to ensure that teaching is dynamic, focused and clearly thought out; thus ensuring that the learning experience for the child is maximized as much as possible as well as coherent, reinforced and systematic. Developed with both teacher and student input, Safar Schemes of Work employ not only tried and tested methods but also utilize theoretical frameworks such as Bloom’s taxonomy of learning objectives whilst keeping in mind activities suited to all three main types of learners: visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
