The Arabic version of this book has been used in Arab and Muslim communities in Western countries such as America, Germany, and Italy; in Asian countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates; and in Africa in Somalia. It has been taught in schools in Egypt and has impressed Arabic language teachers, who teach the language of the Glorious Quran. This book was created after increased demand for an English version. About the book and its contents: This book is based on the original Baghdadi Qaida book. It gradually teaches the alphabet and reading (for children and beginner adults), beginning with the letters, moving on to words, and finally, to sentences. The curriculum is organized in a similar fashion to the system used in Egyptian memorization schools. It teaches the reader the difference between the Arabic script and the Uthmani (Quran) script. Each lesson contains exercises with word examples directly from the Quran. The lesson on long vowels is in Uthmani script. It presents rules, such as lam qamariyyah and lam shamsiyyah, clearly with lots of exercises. It describes how to prefix some particle letters to the definite article. It explains the difference between the taa letter in its closed and open form. It describes how hamzat wasl is used at the beginning of a word. It explains what to do when two letters with sukun meet. This book is derived from the original al-Qa’idah al-Baghdadiyyah. It uses a graded technique for children and beginners, and it first teaches the alphabet, then words, then sentences arranged methodically. This method differs from other methods that begin with sentences and moves on to words and then letters. Children younger than six years old are expected to begin repeating sentences after their teachers. It is easy for them to confuse short vowels (fatha, damma, and kasra), long vowels (alif, waw, and yaa), tanween, sukun, shadda, tarqeeq and tafkheem, and definite and indefinite nouns. This edition is unique in that it presents a large amount of vocabulary and exercises for each lesson. It also introduces new phonetic rules with exercises. These exercises deal with the definite article, sun and moon letters, and other useful concepts. استمد الكتاب مادته من أصل كتاب القاعدة البغدادية يعتمد الكتاب في تعليم الهجاء أسلوب التدرج بالصغار والمبتدئين من حروف الهجاء إلى الكلمة ومنها إلى الجملة العربية وذلك بأسلوب منهجي مرتب على غرار ما كان متبعا في الكتاتيب المصرية. و هذا الاسلوب يخالف المتبع الآن في التعليم حيث يعتمد الأخير أسلوب الهدم المقلوب إذ يبدأ التعليم من الجملة إلى الكلمة ومنها إلى الحرف الذي هو بنية الكلمة . ومن ثم الجملة ثم يرجى من صغير لم يتجاوز عمره السادسة أن يفتح الكتاب ويقرأ خلف معلمه درسا قد اختلط فيه الحابل بالنابل ما بين فتح وضم وكسر ومد و تنوين وتسكين وتضعيف وترقيق وتفخيم وتعريف وتنكير وتتميز هذه الطبعة : بزبادة أستخدام المفردات وعدد التمرينات لكل درس لينتفع بها المعلم والمتعلم إضافة قواعد صوتية جديدة مع تمرينات تخص اللام الشمسية والقمرية ودروس أخرى مفيدة تجدها بين ثنايا الكتاب . وكذلك إضافة الزيادات الخاصة باللغة الانجليزية
