Arabic-French Dictionary

Speaking two languages can lead to a cultural closure, where understanding is limited by the knowledge of these two languages alone. The aim of this work, a trilingual dictionary by Ola Abd al-Hamid, is to increase understanding, and bridge the gaps between a greater number of languages, peoples and cultures. Specifically, Arabic vocabulary and its equivalents from the Spanish and French languages are introduced side by side to create a connection between the three languages in the mind of the reader.This dictionary is designed to meet the needs of students residing in Spain or France; of thinkers and researchers who are in touch with the Spanish and French culture; or of people generally interested in these two languages and contains more than 30 thousand entries. It is arranged alphabetically according to the Arabic words, and each word is listed alongside its equivalents in Spanish and French. The dictionary is comprehensive, and encompasses the accurate and documented intricacies of each language. This work should prove useful to anyone studying, researching or translating in these languages. القاموس الذي نقلب صفحاته هو قاموس ثلاثي اللغة، وضعته علا عبد الحميد سليمان ليفي بحاجة الطالب المقيم في إسبانيا وفرنسا أو لهؤلاء المفكرين والباحثين الذين هم على اتصال بالثقافة الإسبانية والفرنسية لهؤلاء أو لغيرهم مما يودون الإحاطة بهاتين اللغتين. وقد جاء مرتباً ترتيباً ألفبائياً بحيث أوردت المؤلفة المفردات العربية وما يقابلها من مرادفات باللغتين الإسبانية والفرنسية وقد جاء هذا القاموس، شاملاً ومغطياً للدقائق اللغوية الموثقة والمتطابقة.يقيم هذا القاموس صلة بين الثقافات الثلاث ويتميّز بدقة العمل في الترجمة من الإسبانية إلى الفرنسية والعربية: في الفرنسية تم ذكر المؤنث وفي بعض الحالات علامة التأنيث فقط. في العربية اقتصر على ذكر المذكر وفي أحيان قليلة الأسماء المؤنثة. ان اجادة أكثر من لغة تؤدي – بلا شك – الى تقارب الثقافات وقد كان الهدف من هذا العمل الذي تقدمه على أساس من الأبجدية الإسبانية، وما يقابل كلماتها من العربية والفرنسية هو المساهمة – بجهد متواضع – في عَقْد صلة بينَ الثقافات الثلاث.

It presents at least one example of each Arabic word used in a complete sentence, in addition to morphological information, verb forms, and numerous illustrations. The dictionary is supplemented with an appendix of posters and an appendix of the Arabic alphabet, numbers, lunar and solar months, days of the week, and a glossary in Arabic and French. يشتمل هذا الكتاب (القاموس) على الكلمات والتعبيرات العربية مع مقابلاتها باللغة الفرنسي الواردة في سلسلة أحب العربية, ويقدم لكل كلمة عربية مثال أو أكثر على استعماله في جملة تامة. بالإضافة إلى معلومات صرفية , وصيغ الأفعال, كما يشتمل علة عدد كبية من الصور التوضيحية . وذيل القاموس بملحق اللوحات المصورة لبعض الموضوعات ، وملحق آخر لحروف الهجاء العربية وأسماءها والأرقام وأسماء الشهور القمرية والشمسية وأيام الأسبوع , بالإضافة إلى مسرد باللغتين العربية والفرنسية.
