Since the publication of Samuel Huntington’s The Clash of Civilizations, concern about civilization has been reintroduced into the debate on the world order. Malek Bennabi (1905–1973), prominent Algerian thinker and great Muslim intellectual, intently focused on unraveling the causes of Muslim decline and the success of Western civilization and culture. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah's Religion (Islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah (a) has revealed through me (the Prophet) and learns and then teaches it to others. The (last example is that of a) person who does not care for it and does not take Allah's Guidance revealed through me (he is like that barren land)" (Al-Mukarramah).

مات أبوه قبل أن يولد، فرعته أمه، ولما أصبح طفلًا رحلت أمه عن الدنيا، ثم زادت مرارة يتمه برحيل جده عبدالمطلب وهو فتى.. أخذ الموت أحبته.. فجعه بهم، وترك له الذكريات والدموع. كد وكافح.. رعى الغنم وباع واشترى، وتعامل مع الناس حتى كسوه لقب الأمين. لم يعاقر خمرًا أو يمس صنمًا أو يعرف الخنا، فكان حلم العذارى، لكنهن فوجئن بالأربعينية الطيبة.. خديجة تفوز بقلبه، فرزقهما الله أربع بنات كالزهرات، ولما اقترب من الأربعين واصل رحلة التأمل والأسئلة الكبرى فيما حوله: الناس والحياة والكون.. أدرك أنه لا إله ولا خالق إلا الله، فناجاه وحده سبحانه، وأخلص له قلبه، وهوت روحه الانعزال أحيانًا، فانتقى كهفًا في جبل حراء، لتصفو فيه روحه، ويناجي ربه أيامًا من كل عام، ثم بدأ يرى رؤى صادقة تبشره وتحيره، وفي ليلة من ليالي ذلك الغار هبط عليه كبير الملائكة جبريل عليه السلام، فبلغه رسالة ربه، وأنزل عليه (اقرأ)، فنزل عليه الصلاة والسلام إلى مكة بشيرًا ونذيرًا لقومه، فصدقه قلة وكذبه الباقون، فظل يدعوهم.. يخاطب القلوب والعقول.. سلاحه الوحيد الكلمة (القرآن)، وتاريخ أبيض خالٍ من الكذب، حتى كثر أتباعه، فخاف طغاة قريش، وبدؤوا الاعتقالات والسحل للمؤمنين، الذين تفرقوا بين المنافي والمعتقلات، فبدأ عليه الصلاة والسلام بمخاطبة القبائل الأخرى.. يناشدهم علهم يؤوونه وينصرون توحيد ربه، حتى اقتنع بدعوته أكرم أهل الأرض (الأنصار) أهل يثرب، فأسس معهم دولة على أرضهم وبالكلمة فقط.. شيدها دون أن يريق قطرة دم واحدة.. أسسها بالمعاهدات والوثائق، فلم يُقصِ الوثنيين كما أقصوه.. كان شعبه مكونًا من اليهود والوثنيين والمسلمين، فحاول استصلاحهم جميعًا والتأليف بينهم، لكنه أضاف إلى سلاح الكلمة الذي حمله من مكة سلاحًا آخر: (سلاح العدل). لم يبنِ سجنًا.. كان متواضعًا حتى إن بيته وهو طريد بمكة أكبر من بيته وهو حاكم في المدينة.. انشغل ببناء دولته، وتناسى اضطهاد قريش، بل أقر شعبه على التجارة معهم، خاصة طواغيتهم، لكنهم لم يتركوه.. منعوه ومنعوا شعبه من حقهم في زيارة بيت ربهم، ثم حرضوا عليه قبائل العرب، فتناوبوا في غزوه وحصاره والغدر بأصحابه، وخانته الأقلية اليهودية من شعبه بالتحالف مع طغاة قريش.. اليهود الذين استضاف عليه الصلاة والسلام حاخامتهم في بيته، وأحب موافقتهم في غير الوحي، ومع ذلك كذبوه وتآمروا عليه وشتموه حتى داخل بيته، فاضطر إلى التوقيع معهم على معاهدات وطنية، تكفل حقوقهم وحريتهم وأمنهم، فاستغلوا عدله، وخانوا الوثيقة تلو الوثيقة، واتصلوا سرًّا بمعظم القبائل الوثنية وحرضوها، حتى تمكنوا من تحويلها إلى جيوش تحاصر شعبه، فأصبح مضطرًّا إلى حمل السلاح دفاعًا عن دينه ووطنه وشعبه، الذين تعهد بالدفاع عنهم كما يدافعون عنه. خاض حروبًا كان رجال أسرته في مقدمتها، وفقد الكثير من الأحبة، ولما أصبحت دولته هي الأقوى في جزيرة العرب لم يتعطش للدماء.. لم ينتقم.. كان مأخوذًا بالبناء.. بالسلم.. بأسر القلوب.. بالحفاظ على الأرواح لا بإزهاقها، أسرت رحمته قلوب الناس حين رأوا وجهه يتلون حزنًا لما رأى وثنيين غرباء حفاة عراة جائعين، فلم يقر له قرار حتى أشبعهم وكساهم وطيب خواطرهم. وفي أوج قوته وأنسب فرص الانتقام من طغاة قريش.. وقع معهم معاهدة صلح، فأملوا عليه شروطًا جائرة، وهم في أشد حالات الضعف، فوافق ليحقن الدماء ويعم السلام، لكنهم خانوه ليفاجأ العالم بفتح مكة.. فاجأهم لأنه فتحها نصرة لقبيلة وثنية، وقعت معه معاهدة دفاع مشترك، فغدر بها طغاة قريش، ولما انتصر عليهم لم يقم بمجازر.. لم ينتقم لعشرين عامًا من الظلم والتعذيب والمؤامرات.. دخل مكة فلم يغتصب بيتًا أو أرضًا، بل لم يجد مكانًا يبيت فيه، إلا واديًا كان يُحبس فيه هو وأصحابه قبل الهجرة.. فتح مكة وحكم الجزيرة، ففزعت الدول الكبرى، وبدؤوا التحرش بدولة القرآن.. بدأ المجوس والنصارى وعملاؤهم إرسال الجيوش، فاضطر إلى الدفاع عن شعبه في مؤتة وذات السلاسل وتبوك، وأعد جيشًا ثالثًا للمهمة نفسها قبيل وفاته، ثم رحل عليه الصلاة والسلام عن الدنيا وهو يحكم الجزيرة العربية كلها.. رحل دون أن يسكن قصرًا، أو يلبس ذهبًا أو حريرًا، أو يبيت ليلة وفي رصيده دينار أو درهم.. مات لم يترك عبدًا أو أمة، لكنه ترك درعه مرهونة عند تاجر يهودي من شعبه مقابل كمية من الشعير طعامًا لعائلته، أما شعبه فتركهم وهم أنظف الشعوب، وأكثرها نظامًا وثقافة.. رحل بعد أن أدخل القلم والكتاب لكل بيت، فجعلهم أول شعب يقتني الكتاب في البيوت.. كتاب الله الذي يثقفهم عقائديًّا وعقليًّا وروحيًّا ونفسيًّا وتربويًّا واجتماعيًّا وصحيًّا وسياسيًّا واقتصاديًّا وعسكريًّا وقضائيًّا.. رحل عليه الصلاة والسلام لكنه لا يزال شمسًا لا تعرف المغيب: توحيدًا وأخلاقًا وعدلاً ورحمة للعالمين.
